Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Texas Defensive Shooting Club (TDSC) collects, uses, protects, and shares information through txdefshooting.org and its authenticated administration tools.
Information you provide
We collect information you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, subscription preference, membership or event inquiry, and message content. We use it to administer the club, respond to requests, and send communications you request.
Google user data
The TDSC Admin Gmail integration is available only to authenticated TDSC administrators. With the mailbox owner's authorization, it requests read-only access to Gmail messages and permission to send email. It uses that access only to list and search Inbox messages, display a selected message as plain text, show attachment names and sizes without downloading them, and send an administrator-confirmed message.
- Gmail content is requested from Google only when an administrator uses the mailbox tools.
- Messages and attachments are not copied into the TDSC subscriber database or application logs.
- Short-lived Google access tokens are held in server memory; OAuth credentials remain in protected server configuration.
- Displayed message data remains in the authenticated administrator's browser session and is not used for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
- Google user data is shared only with Google to provide the integration and with recipients explicitly selected for sent email. We do not sell it.
Google API Limited Use
TDSC's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Service records and security
We retain subscriber and contact records for club operations until they are no longer needed or deletion is requested, subject to legal and operational obligations. Administrative access is restricted, network traffic is encrypted in transit, and production credentials are kept outside the public application source. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Analytics and service providers
If enabled, TDSC uses cookie-free Umami analytics for aggregate page-view, referrer, and device information. The only custom event is an aggregate newsletter signup conversion; names, email addresses, form contents, Gmail activity, and administrator sessions are not sent to analytics. Hosting, email, and infrastructure providers process information only as needed to operate the site.
Your choices
Newsletter recipients can use the unsubscribe link in a delivered message. The mailbox owner can revoke TDSC Admin Gmail access from their Google Account security settings. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you submitted, use the TDSC contact form.
Policy updates
We may update this policy when the site or its data practices change. The current version and its update date will remain available on this page. See also our Terms of Use.
